True Blood Vampires
Steve Newlin is a very young vampire at only four months. So while not as strong nor disciplined as the 3,000+ year old Russell Edgington, there are basic traits all vampires share. Source.

•Fangs & Feeding: Fangs are located behind the maxillary lateral incisors. They can be extended and retracted by choice, not unlike a snake's, and are controlled by the movements of certain facial muscles. However, fangs protrude automatically when vampires are feeding, angry, excited, sexually aroused (colloquially referred to as a "fang boner"), need to fight, or see blood. Fangs can also be removed, but grow back after three months.
Vampires in this world can sustain themselves on synthetic blood, as "Tru Blood" provides them with all necessary nutrients. (think slim fast for vamps, but not as tasty.) That said, it doesn't remove the craving completely. Those who "Mainstream" (aka live freely among humans) use the synthetic blood as a way of remaining peaceful, and non-violent.
Of course human blood is far preferred, satisfying a vampire's intense predatory urges. Shapeshifter, werewolf, and a witch's all taste slightly different, but are overall effective as any other human's. No added bonuses. Most humans find being fed upon a pleasurable experience and, more often than not, leads to sex after or during the fangy business. In fact, in the world of True Blood, there exists clubs (like Fangtasia) where "fangbangers" go for that special kinky thrill.
Moving on, faerie blood is where things get weird.

Described as "catnip for vampires"; it's intensely alluring, smelling of honey or sunlight, and the most delicious. Older vamps might just barely resist the temptation for a feeding frenzy, but younger ones are near powerless. If enough Fae blood is consumed, the vampire will become a (temporary) Daywalker.
•Vampire Blood, or "V", is like a drug for those who partake. FAQ and Permissions Here!
•Basic Abilities: All have enhanced strength, endurance, and healing. Their speedy reflexes & movements make them appear a blur to all except other vampires. Similarly, they posses heightened senses; able to hear, smell, and see further than most humans. Newborns, like Newlin, benefit from this but that does not an instant badass make.
•Biology: An immortal's skin will always feel cold, due to lack of blood flow, and appear pale. After feeding they might warm a few degrees, and the flesh will have a healthier glow (especially after one has drained an entire frat house...). In a similar vein (ha), a vampire cries only bloody tears. They are completely immune to telepathy or mind control, save Necromancy. Anyone taking a peek inside Steve's head will hear only static.

•Glamour: Hypnosis or mind compulsion, accomplished with direct eye contact. The glamoured individual will become entranced and either obey an order, be convinced of a lie ("you ABSOLUTELY wanted me to tape your mouth shut") or speak truthfully to a question. Older vampires can break line of sight and still uphold the glamour, effectively making the individual their mindless thrall. However, while Steve is certainly adept at the ability, he's nowhere near that good. Canonically, glamour does not affect other vampires, powerful witches, maenads, halflings, ghosts or fairies.
•Weaknesses:
••Entry to homes: (see above) requires an invite from a non-vampire individual. That person can rescind that invite at any time; at which point, the vampire is forcibly removed from the residence; angrily or gently, depending on the person's tone of voice.
••Sunlight/UV Light: Vampires cannot endure ultra-violet light in any form. If they come into contact with sunlight, their skin will smolder, crack, and eventually, they'll burst into flames and perish. The older a vampire is, the quicker they will burn. If they do not sleep during the day, they will experience "The Bleeds", aka, bleeding from their ears and noses. While the vampire is severely weakened & sluggish during daytime hours, provided they're indoors, The Bleeds themselves are not lethal.
••Silver: Any contact with silver will burn and melt flesh, and be excruciatingly painful. Silver is the most common way of binding or incapacitating vampires. Quite literally a thin silver chain necklace on a vampire's neck, wrists, and/or feet is enough to pin them down.
••Wood: If the heart of a vampire is pierced with a wooden object, such as a stake or wooden bullets, the vampire will explode, and leave a mass of blood & gore where they were previously standing.
••Necromancy: Due to the fact that they are technically dead, vampires are particularly vulnerable to this form of magic. It can be used to influence, destroy or control them. Fearing the power that practitioners can wield, vampires have been persecuting necromancers for centuries.
